The Palau Nacional, built for the 1929 International Exhibition, is the headquarters of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. The Palau Nacional, which almost reaches 50,000 m 2, is a building of great proportions that is ascribed to the models of academic classicism of the time within the scope of universal exhibitions. Its façade is crowned by a large dome, inspired by that of St. Peter's in the Vatican, two smaller ones on each side and four towers inspired by the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
