It is not only a typical place for the whole family to enjoy a few days off, as is the case on many San Diego beaches, but all kinds of things that make it possible for anyone to have a great time, whether with friends, girlfriend or even only.

With some recent investment in parks and on the beaches themselves, there is plenty to have fun with in Coronado.

The best known and most visited part of the Coronado beaches is the one that is close to the hotel of the same name. There is free public parking, although on high season days it is difficult to find a place. The services are practically complete, with toilets and showers.

Pets are allowed on Coronado beaches, although drinking alcohol or carrying glass bottles is not allowed. During the day, the beach is guarded by lifeguards. The only problem that we can find on the beaches closer to the hotels is the noise of the planes taking off and landing to the north. During the summer, we also have to watch out for red flags because of the tide.

Many people come to this place to be able to get married at the Hotel de Coronado, mentioned earlier. However, although this hotel is one of the most famous in the region, there are a large number of equally good hotels available, and at very varied prices. In front of many of the hotels, there are miles and miles of beaches with perfect sand that seems to be put there on purpose, shops and stores, and a good number of restaurants, both on the beach and further inland.

Coronado includes a harbor with boats, public golf courses, bike rentals and of course, skate rentals to skate along the beaches. Apart from a good day at the beach, we should make time to visit the San Diego Zoo and see the giant panda bears, the wonderful Balboa Park with its museums and gardens, the old part of the city and Horton Square, just to name a few places to see.

By taking the ferry, we can see wildlife, shop, dine, and see San Diego's best attractions in one day. Then come back and get ready for the next day at the beach.
