The Park is the result of a concern that was born in the country due to indiscriminate hunting which was destroying the natural environment of the city of Nairobi, for which they decided to protect it in the mid- twentieth century . It was the first national park in the country, and in it we find more than 100 square kilometers of savannah, abundant dry forest vegetation, and a wide variety of wild species.

Nairobi National Park is one of the few places in the world where you can see a [[ West African Black Rhinoceros |black rhinoceros]] in the wild, in its natural habitat . It is located 13 kilometers from the city, occupies 114 square kilometers, although it is increasingly pressured by the growth of the Kenyan capital. The park is not fenced, so the animals leave and enter it through the Kitengela corridor, so the species that can be seen vary depending on the season of the year in which you visit. Lions, rhinos, leopards, buffalo, baboons can normally be seenand many more.
