Great Wall of China, Huanghuacheng (with Map & Photos)

The Huanghuacheng Great Wall of China is located in the Haizhu District, about 60 kilometers north of Beijing. This site was built under the reign of Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty to protect the capital and the Imperial Tombs. The Huanghuacheng Section of the Great Wall is about 14 kilometers long.

The Great Wall of China Huanghuacheng is also known as the Great Wall Under Water, as three separate sections of the wall, connecting, go under water. This is because the Xishuiyu Reservoir was built in the area in 1974, when the water level rose, so some low-lying sections of the wall went under water.
