Farolim de Felgueiras Lighthouse. There are several more variations of the name of the same lighthouse, which stands on the northern bank of the mouth of the Douro River.

On the one hand, the Atlantic splashes here, on the other hand, the peaceful waters of the golden river slowly descend from the emerald hills of the valley and cut through the city of Porto, merge with the ocean.

The Farolim de Felgueiras is located in the Fozhs region, which is translated from Portuguese as “mouth”. If you have several days planned in Porto, be sure to come here at sunset. The name Felgueiras comes from a stone located nearby on the west side.

Almost 30 years later, in 1979, this lighthouse was modernized and became one of the first lighthouses in Portugal to be operated by remote control, which was carried out from the nearby port of Leixões.
