Point Reyes National Seashore, California (with Map & Photos)

Point Reyes National Seashore is a 71,028-acre (287.44 km2 ) conservation park located on the Point Reyes Peninsula in Marin County, California, USA. As a national seashore, it is maintained by the United States National Park Service as an important conservation area.

Some existing agricultural use is allowed to continue within the park. Clem Miller, U.S. Congressman from Marin County wrote and introduced the Point Reyes National Coastal Establishment Bill in 1962 to protect the peninsula from development, which at the time was being proposed for the slopes above Drake Bay. In 2010, all the park's beaches were recognized as the cleanest in the state.
