The Bernese Alps are a group of mountain ranges in the Western Alps in Switzerland. The part of the Bernese Alps above the Lauterbrunnen valley contains more than 70 waterfalls. The valley of Lauterbrunnen is one of the deepest in the Alpine chain, if you consider the height of the mountains, which rise straight on both sides.

The valley offers a magnificent view of the Jungfrau, Eiger and Mönch peaks covered with snow all year round. Their height, respectively, is 4158, 3970 and 4107 meters above sea level. It is believed that there are 72 waterfalls in the valley. Entering the city of Lauterbrunnen, you will see the Staubbach waterfall on the right. Three kilometers from it up the gorge is the Trummelbach waterfall. After driving a couple more kilometers, you will see the Mürrenbach Falls.

These are the most interesting waterfalls in the valley. The Jungfrau Railway, built in 1896-1912, passes through the valley. A significant part of it passes through a tunnel cut into the mountain. The end station of the Jungfraubahn is located at an altitude of 3,454 meters above sea level. From there, a high-speed elevator leads to a high-altitude observation deck.
