We had visited the Jajce waterfalls, spectacular in terms of location, but the ones we visited in the Herzegovina area, in the south of the country, took our breath away. We are talking about the Kravice Falls.

These waterfalls, located in the hottest area of the country, are an authentic oasis, or rather a "spa" in which to cool off from the intense summer heat, surrounded by a dreamlike environment.

The Trebizat River, as it passes through the area, leaves us one of the most impressive natural spectacles in Bosnia, and although its dimensions do not reach the beauty of the Plitvice Lakes Natural Park, located in neighboring Croatia, it is not out of place at all.

The Kravice Waterfalls, with a height of more than 25 meters, have a fall at different points of the rocks, which makes it form different branches, all of them, ending in a beautiful turquoise lake.

With more than 10 “ramifications”, enjoying a visit to the Kravice waterfalls is an obligation during a visit to Bosnia, and its location just 40 kilometers from Mostar makes them accessible from this city and even from Croatia.

How can it be otherwise, the water in this natural park is quite cold, which is appreciated in summer. We can swim in the lake and access some of the breakers of the waterfall.

How to get

Getting to the Kravice Falls is easy

From Mostar we must take the R424 road towards Medugorje and then continue towards Studenci. Once there it is perfectly indicated.

Food and parking

There is a parking area, so we should not have problems to leave our vehicle with total peace of mind.

In the park of the Kravice Waterfalls, there are a couple of "chiringuitos" where we can have something and even eat.
