Val di Funes, in Trentino-Alto Adige, is home to several historic churches and chapels. One of the best-known is the Church of Santa Maddalena, a late Gothic church dating from the 15th century and located in the village of Santa Maddalena. The church is especially famous for its picturesque setting beneath the Odle peaks.

Santa Maddalena Church was first documented in 1394, while the present late Gothic building dates from the end of the 15th century. Its location on a hillside provides a memorable view across the valley toward the jagged Dolomite peaks.
Another important landmark is the Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul in San Pietro, the central village of Val di Funes. The church was dedicated in 1801, and its distinctive detached bell tower was completed in 1897.
