The 11-mile (17.7 km) Kalalau Trail begins at Ke’e Beach and winds through lush valleys, rugged terrain, and sea cliffs before reaching Kalalau Beach. It is considered one of the most beautiful — and challenging — hikes in the world. The reward at the end is a golden beach framed by waterfalls, sea caves, and dramatic cliffs.
Camping is allowed with a permit, and many visitors stay overnight to soak in the solitude and stargazing opportunities. The beach is not recommended for swimming due to strong currents, but its natural beauty and isolation make it a dream destination for experienced hikers and nature lovers.
