From the summit, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Madeira’s dramatic mountains and, on clear days, you might even see the neighboring island of Porto Santo. It's a fantastic place to watch the sunrise above the clouds—a truly unforgettable experience.

Pico do Arieiro is also the starting point of the PR1 hiking trail, which connects to Pico Ruivo, the highest peak on the island. The trail is about 7 km long and takes 3 to 4 hours to complete, passing through tunnels, ridges, and stunning mountain scenery.

At the top, you’ll find a café, parking, and a viewpoint. Because of the high altitude, the weather can change quickly, so it’s a good idea to dress in layers and check the forecast before you go.

Whether you love hiking or just want amazing views, Pico do Arieiro is a must-visit in Madeira.
