Makalu Mountain, standing tall at 8,485 meters (27,838 feet), is the fifth-highest mountain in the world, located in the heart of the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and China (Tibet). It lies just 19 km (12 mi) southeast of Mount Everest and is part of the Mahalangur range.

Renowned for its pyramid-shaped summit, Makalu is one of the most technically challenging 8,000-meter peaks to climb due to its steep ridges and exposed faces. The mountain is surrounded by the stunning and remote Makalu Barun National Park, a protected area rich in biodiversity, glaciers, and alpine beauty.
