Fossá Waterfall is one of the most stunning and tallest waterfalls in the Faroe Islands, located on Streymoy Island, near the village of Haldarsvík. The waterfall cascades down in two dramatic tiers, with a height of approximately 140 meters (459 feet), making it the tallest waterfall in the archipelago.

Visiting:

  • Parking: Limited parking space near the waterfall, so it can get crowded during the high season (July-August). There are a couple of lay-bys that accommodate about 8 cars.

  • Hiking Trail: A short trail begins approximately 150 meters from the parking area, which leads you closer to the waterfall. The trail offers a more intimate experience with the natural surroundings, though it isn’t marked on Google Maps.
