On Civic and Glen Avenues in Salisbury, Maryland, there formerly stood the 600,000-square-foot (56,000 m2) regional mall known as The Salisbury Mall. The Salisbury Mall was the Delmarva Peninsula's first enclosed, climate-controlled shopping center.

The Salisbury Daily Times published a story on October 16, 1968, stating that the mall's overall cost had surpassed $7 million and that the parking lot could hold 3,300 vehicles. Hecht's, Peebles, Sears, and Food Depot served as the mall's anchor stores.
