It was first constructed as an outdoor shopping center (with two parallel rows of retailers separating the original anchors Hecht's and Stewarts), subsequently, it was transformed into an indoor mall and enlarged with big box stores in an outdoor shopping area. In 1962, the Reisterstown Road Plaza first opened. Home Depot, Five Below, Petco, Marshalls, Giant, Shoppers World, and Big Lots are the anchor establishments. Two anchor stores initially Modell's Sporting Goods and Burlington are now vacant.
