West Edmonton Mall (WEM) is a shopping mall located in Edmonton, Alberta. It is the second most visited mall in Canada, after the Toronto Eaton Center in Toronto, followed by the Metrotown Mall in Burnaby, and the 23rd largest in the world (along with the Dubai Mall) by gross leasable area.

The mall was founded by the Ghermezian brothers, who emigrated from Iran in 1959. Its main anchors include Hudson's Bay, London Drugs, La Maison Simons, The Brick, Toyota, and Winners/HomeSense.

In addition to the more than 500 stores at West Edmonton Mall, there are many other things that people go to the mall for.

  • Galaxyland: The largest indoor amusement park in the world. The park has 24 attractions. These rides include a triple loop roller coaster.
  • World Waterpark: The largest indoor water park in the world. The park includes the largest indoor wave pool in the world. The wave pool can create waves up to 1.5 meters high. It also has ten slides. Its tallest slide is 83 feet tall.
  • Deep Sea Adventure: An inland saltwater lake with acting sea lions. The lake also has a structure built to resemble Christopher Columbus 's Santa MarĂ­a.

The mall also has an ice skating rink, a miniature golf course, a casino, a skate park, a hotel, a petting zoo, three movie theaters, and many other things to see.
