Columbia River: Overview and Characteristics (with Map & Photos)

The Columbia River is a river in northwestern North America. Crosses the Canadian province of British Columbia, as well as the US states of Washington and Oregon. Length - 2000 km. Full-flowing Colombia has glacial nutrition and a mountainous transient nature of the current. A large volume of water and a significant difference in elevation over a relatively short distance creates favorable conditions for the production of hydroelectric power. The Columbia is the river with the largest electricity generation in North America. There are 14 hydroelectric power plants built on the river in both the US and Canada.
