Matterhorn Mountain, Switzerland (with Map & Photos)

The Matterhorn is a large, jagged mountain 4478 meters high on the border of Switzerland and Italy. It is one of the highest peaks of the Apennine Alps, also known as Monte Cervino in Italian and Monte Cervin in French. The mountain is known as one of the most extreme destinations for climbers. Since the first ascent in 1865 to this day, more than 500 people have died on its slopes.

Even the easiest route here is a very difficult climb, although many climbers go to conquer the Matterhorn throughout the year.

I have already written about the peaks of Nepal, in particular, Mount Annapurna. So, in this mountain range there is a peak called the Matterhorn of Nepal, so named due to its amazing resemblance to a European mountain.
