The beach is prepared for almost everything. You can swim, surf, sunbathe, fish without a license, scooters, surfboards, bicycles, etc. can be rented. It should be noted that in 2001, it was named one of the 10 best urban beaches in the United States by Surfrider magazine.

Balboa Beach is a popular place to take swimming lessons. In fact, in summer we can find groups of boys taking these lessons, so if we want to avoid them, we should go further north. The sand is very well cared for and the water is usually quite clean, although on hangover days it can get a little cloudy.

Where do I stay and where do I eat?

There are several hotels to choose from on Balboa Beach, some of them even right on the beach, literally on the sand. There are very good places to eat and dine, as well as places to have a drink at night.
