Built between 1448 and 1460 by Pier María Rossi II, Count of San Secondo, this site is immersed in the Parma Valley and the Abbey of Santa María de las Nieves.

Although the main objective of its realization was to serve as a defense building, it was built as a modern and luxurious house, which has four towers connected by a double ring of walls that border a patio classified as Patio de Honor and inside is It is possible to observe decorations that refer to natural themes in conjunction with the fantastic and the grotesque.

In the case of the rooms, each name alludes to the theme of the fresco it presents. For example, on the ground floor are the Enramada Hall, the Della Vittoria Hall, the Velario Hall, the Shields Hall and the main one called the Golden Hall. In that same sector you can also see the Chapel of San Nicomedes, used as palace of Bianca Pellegrini, lover of Pier María Rossi.

And so that you keep in mind when visiting the Torrechiara Castle in Italy, I tell you that legend has it that during hours of the full moon night, the ghost of a beautiful duchess appears, who was buried alive by her husband, who walks through the tower of the castle offering kisses to the men who fulfill her wishes.
