Between Cape Town and the Cape of Good Hope

Leaving the beautiful Cape Town by the route of the mythical Cape of Good Hope you will have the possibility to discover some wonders of nature. Before reaching the end of the continent you will have the opportunity to make several stops.

To get started, stop at the Kirstenboch Notional Botanical Garden. It has 36 hectares and is one of the largest and most beautiful botanical gardens in the world.

Wine lovers are obliged to visit the Groot Constantia cellars. The Groot Constantia Homestead and the Wine Museum are also worth a visit.

In Hout Bay you can admire a beautiful landscape. The city is nestled inside a beautiful bay surrounded by high mountains. Something extraordinary. Upon arrival at the port, you will have the opportunity to board a boat to greet the great colony of sea lions that has taken possession of Duiker Island.

If you continue your route south, the ledge under Chapman's Peak offers splendid views. If time permits and you come equipped with your surfboard, the Muizenberg beach will enchant you. The colored cabins on the beach are the real tourist attraction in South Africa.

At the end of the walk you will find a large colony of Cape African penguins in Simon's Town. The environment is pleasant, and the show offered by these little animals that walk along the beach is always great.

The mythical cape

At the tip of South Africa, south of the African continent, is the Cape of Good Hope, one of the most special places in the world for its impressive atmosphere and the feeling of being at the end of the world. If we compare them, the Cape of Good Hope in Africa could be equivalent to Cape Horn located in Ushuaia, on the American continent. However, it is worth knowing that the Cape of Good Hope is the best known and most celebrated, but it is not the one that is further south. The southernmost is Cabo de las Agujas, passing Hermanus.

Currently, the Cape of Good Hope Reserve is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; in it you can make excellent excursions.

The lighthouse, which is approximately a 45-minute walk away, is a mandatory stage. From the top you will see your efforts rewarded by an incredible 360º panorama and an unbeatable view from one point to another. It is impossible to go any further: you are at the extreme end of a continent. Do you have that unique feeling of being at the end of the world? This is something magical.
